Touloum Refugee Camp, Eastern Chad

A young Sudanese girl walks through the Medicines Sans Frontiers Clinic in the Touloum Camp of eastern Chad. Touloum is now home to more than 15,000 refugees. The medical relief organizations are working around the clock on both sides of the border. Due to the massive scale of the displacement - both in numbers and geography - few displaced persons have access to health care. Malnutrition and advanced life-threatening diseases will continue to take their toll.
